Research Does Not Require a PhD
Citizen Science bridges the gap between advanced marine technology and everyday ocean advocates. We equip volunteers with the tools and training to conduct meaningful, peer-reviewed research right from the shoreline.
Real Change Happens When Communities Get Involved
Marine research has historically belonged to institutions. The instruments were expensive, the training was long, and the results lived in journals most people never read.
That is changing. Water quality data, species counts and habitat surveys can be collected rigorously from the shoreline by people who live there.
Participants are not observers — they are scientists. Their data matters, and contributing to it builds the confidence that opens doors to university.
What Participants Actually Do
Water quality sampling
Real measurements on a repeatable schedule, recorded to a standard that lets the data be used rather than admired.
Species and habitat counts
Structured shoreline surveys that build a picture of what lives here and how that is changing.
Peer-reviewed research
Data that feeds ongoing marine research rather than sitting in a folder.
Put a Kid in the Ocean
