Southern California's ocean needs defenders. We need the people who will fight for it — educators, filmmakers, and ocean advocates ready to get in the water.

Why Volunteer

Bridge the Gap

Southern California is home to some of the most diverse marine ecosystems in the world — yet not every student has the opportunity to experience or study them up close.

At My Clean Ocean, we're on a mission to bridge that gap.

You don't need a teaching degree or a dive certification to start. You need a passion for the ocean and a willingness to share it.

The Roles

Three Ways In

01Role One

Ocean Educator

Help us break down marine biology concepts, guide tide-pool explorations, and teach students about the ecosystems right in our backyard. No teaching degree required.

02Role Two

Creative Mentor

Teach the basics of photography and video. Show students how to frame a shot, tell a story through a lens, and use visual media for environmental advocacy.

03Role Three

Field Guide

Join us on expeditions, beach cleanups, and underwater surveys along the Southern California coast. Help students experience the ocean firsthand.
