What We Do

OurInitiatives

A multi-angled approach to protecting the coastlines we love — combining visual storytelling, community-driven research, and targeted habitat defense.

What We Believe

Our Philosophy

“At My Clean Ocean, we believe that protecting our coastlines requires a multi-angled approach. By combining the power of visual storytelling, community-driven research, and targeted habitat defense, we are actively working to preserve the fragile marine ecosystems of Southern California and beyond.”

Pillar One

Exploration

Venturing into the deep to document what exists, what is thriving, and what is under threat. Every expedition builds a visual record of our changing oceans.

Pillar Two

Technology

Using professional Nikon Z9 cameras, Seacam housings, and Insta360 systems to capture footage that changes how the public sees and understands the ocean.

Pillar Three

Conservation

From kelp forest restoration to beach cleanups to youth empowerment programs — turning visual awareness into direct, boots-on-the-ground action.

Throughthe Lens

What people cannot see, they cannot protect.

Blue Lens masters the art of underwater visual storytelling — bringing high-quality imagery and filmmaking to the surface to shine a spotlight on the hidden beauty of our oceans and the urgent challenges they face.

Project · Citizen Science

Hands inthe Data

Real change happens when communities get involved.

Citizen Science bridges the gap between advanced marine technology and everyday ocean advocates. We equip volunteers with the tools and training to conduct meaningful, peer-reviewed research right from the shoreline.

Restorethe Forest

California has lost 90% of its kelp forests since 2014.

Guardian of the Kelp is our most ambitious initiative — a youth-led restoration program combining hands-on kelp out-planting, long-term ecological monitoring, and underwater documentation to bring California’s kelp forests back to life.

A Day onthe Water

You cannot protect an ocean you have never touched.

The Youth Ocean Experience puts young people on a working vessel for a full day at sea — hands-on seamanship, wild marine encounters, and their first real relationship with the ocean, at zero cost to their families.
