Why We Exist
My Clean Ocean was built on a simple belief — that the most powerful way to protect our oceans is to change how the next generation sees them.
We are a Southern California nonprofit putting underserved youth in the water, behind professional underwater cameras, and on a path toward real careers in the ocean industry.
The equipment is expensive. The training is expensive. The connections don't exist. We fund all three.

Javier Mendoza
A California-based philanthropist, master underwater cinematographer and wildlife photographer. Founder and CEO of My Clean Ocean.
Richard Bargas
A firefighter-paramedic turned maritime leader who brings emergency response, international ocean safety, and yacht-industry experience to the mission.
Geronimo Tzikin
A Colombian filmmaker recognized at festivals across the Americas. Produced Pandemonium (2020), Best Picture at the Panama Horror Film Festival.
Karina Klais
Leads the organization's Florida chapter, extending the mission beyond the Southern California coastline.
